Daylight Foundation Leadership
Carl Herrick’s life and career were forever shaped by the guidance of his high school football coach, who saw his potential and helped him pursue an education at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. There, Carl earned a degree in engineering and a commission as a Naval officer — launching a lifelong journey defined by leadership, perseverance, and a desire to give back. After years of success in engineering, project management, and elite corporate training—including 11 years with Daimler Chrysler’s #1-rated global team—Carl opened a Sandler Training Center in Baton Rouge. He went on to coach top executives, found LSU’s inter-collegiate sales team, and help create the LSU Professional Sales Institute.
Now, through the Daylight Foundation, Carl channels decades of leadership experience into building stronger families, more resilient communities, and a brighter future for Louisiana. His mission is rooted in faith, family, education, workforce and neighborhood development — empowering individuals to discover the values and opportunities that changed his own life. As a board member of the Zachary Rotary Club and a passionate community leader, Carl continues to joyfully, energetically and optimistically invest in the people and the state he has proudly called home for over 45 years.
